Minot DeBlois Advisors LLC (MDA) is an investment advisory firm registered with the SEC. MDA was formed to extend the integrity, experience and insight gained by our parent company Rice, Heard & Bigelow to a broader audience. The name “Minot DeBlois” pays tribute to two significant individuals in our parent firm’s more than 225 year history: George Richards Minot, who founded the first trust office in Boston in 1782 which managed the famous Franklin Fund, established by Benjamin Franklin upon his death to benefit the City of Boston, and George DeBlois, whose firm DeBlois & Maddison merged with Minot, Williams, and Bangs in the first half of the 20th century to create the firm that exists today as Rice, Heard & Bigelow.

The MDA investment team works closely together to assess investment strategies for each client. Asset allocation, security selection and portfolio weightings are collectively discussed and reviewed in an effort to ensure that the client’s investment goals and risk tolerances are reflected in portfolio composition throughout market cycles.

Our mission is to provide our clients a high level of investment advice, service and individual attention. MDA is not a broker, lending institution or investment bank. We therefore do not underwrite securities or sell proprietary investment products. Our firm is privately owned and our only role is to provide investment advisory services.
